Welcome to my site, my name is Rachel Yates and I am a well established Sports Massage Therapist with over 20 years experience. Passionate about your health and well being above simply easing your pain or chronic condition.
I have always been fascinated with the body, health and fitness and play many sports when I was younger. It was not until I travelled Australia that I was introduced to Sports Massage and instantly drawn in.
In 1998 I returned from my travels and enrolled on a Sports Massage Sports Therapy Course at the highly recommended Raworth Centre in Dorking. Then returned home to North Yorkshire and volunteered to help at the Harrogate Rugby Club before working at York Football Club and York RI Rugby Club and hiring rooms on a once a week basis in various gyms. I now do most of my work from home in a specially adapted room.
I find the body fascinating and love learning new techniques. Over the years I have studied a variety of techniques; Anatomy Trains, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Reeducation and LWW Massage Therapy and most recently have focused my studies on the Niel Asher Technique, which I continue to do.
I always personalise each treatment and appreciate each clients needs, wants and concerns. Whenever necessary I am keen to advise on diet and change in habits that could be causing muscle distress as well as body awareness. I encourage self treatment by teaching relevant stretches and strengthening exercises in order to provide the most effective treatment.
